The ELI provides a two-course TESL program for individuals attempting to train British as Second/Language. The integrated program combines theory, practical teaching instruction and immediate integration into authentic teaching classes.

Additionally to watching EAP (British for Academic Reasons) classes within the British Language Institute, students may have practicum positions inside a Language Instruction for Beginners to Canada (LINC) program and/or perhaps an EAP / ESL (British like a Second Language) Program inside the GTA. This distinctively positions candidates to see various kinds of teaching and offers all of them with connections for employment upon graduation.

You will find two amounts of certification offered at Seneca’s British Language Institute. Students require only TESL 1 to train overseas. TESL 2 could be completed for advanced training, certification and employment possibilities. TESL 1 or equivalent TESL training from the licensed program is needed for enrollment in TESL 2. Students who effectively complete TESL 1 are qualified for TESL Canada Standard 1 certification. Students who complete TESL 2 are qualified for TESL Canada Standard 2 and TESL Ontario certification.
