In 2003, the Secretary of state for Education established an agenda for ongoing curriculum review. Every year, numerous subject matter go into the review process, to be stored current, relevant and age-appropriate. The present review cycle is going to be carried out 2012.

Comments are carried out meticulously. Comprehensive information-gathering includes:

  • Studying research within the area of interest
  • Comparison along with other areas
  • Focus groups composed of teachers all Ontario school boards
  • Technical content analysis carried out by subject experts
  • Consultation services with stakeholders including:
  • Minister's Advisory Council on Special Education
  • Ability of your practice
  • Companies
  • Parents
  • Students
  • Colleges, schools
  • Other branches from the Secretary of state for Education
  • Other ministries
  • NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations).

    • These resources make up the foundation of suggested revisions towards the curriculum. Writing teams attracted from soccer practice boards over the province then develop modified British and French documents according to research and consultation.

    Further stages of review to finalize the curriculum include:

  • Feedback consultation around the draft curriculum from teachers and stakeholders
  • Overall fact-look for precision and subject integrity
  • Expert inspections to make sure alignment with government guidelines and frameworks for example environment education, First Nation, Métis and Inuit Policy Framework and equity and inclusive education strategy
